About this cognac:
This unique cognac was selected for our second edition of 🌊Gastronomic Waves 🌊.
For this Gastronomic Waves edition, we chose a cognac with an exceptionally pronounced profile. What immediately struck us was its remarkably exotic character: intense notes of tropical fruit, with lychee in the leading role. We had never tasted anything so expressive and at the same time so elegant, and that is exactly why we fell in love with it right away. With its cask strength of 60.9%, this cognac combines power with finesse. The floral notes, the refined perfume, and those almost luxuriant lychee aromas make it particularly suitable for pairing with refined gastronomy, and especially with a unique dessert.
This bottle comes with a porcelain bottleholder created by Studio Pieter Syockmans. We admire their authentic work and the Belgian craftsmanship that Studio Pieter Stockmans so beautifully represents worldwide. The iconic porcelain and their focus on sensory, sustainable, and timeless qualities greatly appealed to us. The art of enjoyment translated into a powerful design. With their creations, they not only serve Malternative Belgium, but also, among others, the Belgian royal family, national and international Michelin-star restaurants and renowned art galleries.
Every bottle-holder is unique and comes with a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity!
About the producer:
On the banks of the Charente, in the heart of the Cognac region, lies Maison Prunier: one of the oldest and most authentic cognac houses in the area. Since the 17th century, the name Prunier has been associated with producing characterful cognac – with dedication and deep respect for time. Today, the house is run by the two sisters Alice and Claire Burnez, who carry on the family heritage with fresh energy. Their father, Stéphane Burnez, remains on watch as an experienced guardian. In this way, new ideas and generations of craftsmanship come together naturally.
The history of Prunier is literally written in oak. In the centuries-old warehouses, with their thick stone walls and blackened façades – the work of the “angel’s share”, the part that evaporates – the casks quietly mature. It is here that Stéphane learned the craft: tasting, waiting, tasting again, and only bottling when the cognac is truly at its peak.
Alice and Claire now carry on that same approach. They combine the tradition of their father and ancestors with a contemporary view of quality, transparency and sustainability. What remains is the core: craftsmanship, patience and respect for the terroir.
Label explanation:
This artwork captures the energy of spring in undulating lines and warm shades that evoke blossoms. The golden and amber hues simultaneously refer to the richness of cognac: vibrant, elegant, and layered. Just as spring brings everything back to life, this cognac also opens up step by step with finesse, freshness, and depth. Gastronomic Waves – second edition thus stands for a harmony between nature, season, and the refined character in the glass.
