This cognac is the result of a beautiful quest, a passion for making contacts with respect for culture and family history. This find at a small bouilleur de cru makes us very happy, a realization of days of dedication and several trips. At the request of the producer's family, we cannot share the name of the cognac house, for which we have respect.

Serge Valentin, whiskyfun.com, 06/03/2022:
The French keep saying that 1969 was an erotic year. Ha, boomers. Colour: deep gold. Nose: the freshest so far, full of dandelions and wisteria at first, then acacia blossom and acacia honey, white chocolate, Mandarine Napoléon (another Belgian thing, mind you) and maple syrup. It's smooth, it's mellow, it's easy, it's wonderful. Mouth: I believe it is only natural that you would find a little oak in such an old cognac. The Mandarine is back as well, juicy golden sultanas as well, Jaffa cakes too, not to mention Timut pepper and liquorice wood. All that works in sync, just like an old straight-8 Bugatti. Finish: medium, rounded, perhaps on chamomile tea sweetened with good all-flower honey. Thank you, bees. A very tiny touch of soap in the aftertaste, which is not uncommon in old cognacs, in my meagre experience. Comments: wonderful. Now, who is 'La Boutique'? A very, very friendly lady? Is that why they chose the vintage '69? Bahn let's not speculate…

Ruben Luyten, www.whiskynotes.be, 25/02/2022:
Nose: lots of apricots at first, then mango, juicy yellow plums, quinces and a truckload of fresh orange juice. The brightness of pink grapefruit as well. This is fruit juice! Really bright with heady hints of mint and white flowers. Light vanilla cake / biscuits after a while.
Mouth: starts with plenty of floral notes again. Oranges stay strong, with tangerines, mirabelles and lime, but it makes a less fruity impression than the nose suggested. Later also clove and caraway seeds, menthol and hints of pinewood. Subtle hints of tobacco leaves and later also a hint of chocolate as it fades away.
Finish: quite long, on fruit tea, orange flowers and oak spice.
Utter freshness with lovely fruits on the nose and a bright rancio profile on the palate. Great selection again – congratulations on the boutique, Pieter!

90/100
