Tasting notes:
Nose: Very rich with aromas of an old cigar box, old Limousin oak, candied cherry, vanilla, dried fruit, cocoa and peppery spices. Very fruity and liqueur!
Taste: Lush, complex and elegant with an explosion of candied oranges and agrumes. The spiciness and wood are present but very balanced.
Aftertaste: Powerful and warm Cognac with a very long aftertaste in the mouth. Full of flavour, with a wide range of flavours.

Serge Valentin, whiskyfun.com, 10/03/2024:
I've tried Boujus that have been pretty extractive, let's see… Colour: very dark amber. Nose: bags of roasted nuts, caramel and toffee, liquorice, resins (gentler ones), some meatiness, as in some deep-sherried malt whisky, plus prunes and chocolate sauce. It seems like we could almost sneak this little one into a blind tasting of Glenfarclas. With water: funny saponification occurring, then back to extreme jams and compotes, in the style of some very old sweet malagas and sherries. Touch of lovage, Marmite, Maggi… Mouth (neat): pretty much in the style of the 82, just heavier yet, very fruity, extremely jammy. All raisins you could find in a Turkish shop, plus all millionaire shortbread you'll find in bonnie Scotland. And that's a lot. With water: no heavy tannins, we're happy. Having said that it got really sweet and thickish, it's no ethereal cognac for sure. Finish: long, thick, heavy, rich, sweet. Comments: 1979? Well this could be a Ramone of the cognac world.

Ruben Luyten, www.whiskynotes.be, 20/12/2023:
Nose: more powerful of course, and clearly more gourmand. Prunes, raisins and candied berries. Even a whiff of Cherry Heering. Then some gingerbread and vanilla, as well as caramel and some pepper. Also darker cocoa, faint mint and hints of (lightly charred) cedar wood.
Mouth: full-bodied and rather on the dark side. There’s a citrusy core but the wood-driven, spicy flavours are louder. Hints of molasses and tobacco leaves, with a few drops of herbal (cough) syrup. The woody side also brings flashes of floral honey and hints of Demerara rum. Herbal tea and caramelized nuts towards the end.
Finish: long, rather drying, with hints of caramel, marmalade and liquorice.
Bouju stands for a darker, more oxidative style of cognac, with quite an overt woody character as well. Closer to armagnac in a way. Not necessarily my preferred style of cognac, but of course Pieter pulls it off with a nice selection that is not too heavy.
Score: 90/100
