about the producer:
According to its own statement, the cognac house started in 1811, but the family already started producing cognac in the 18th century. The estate, Domaine du Renclos in Gondeville, was purchased by Pierre Navarre and the 'maison' was built in 1868. The current owner is Jacky Navarre (4th generation). He owns 11 hectares of vineyards exclusively in the grande champagne, of which 10 hectares are planted with 6% Folle Blanche grapes, 6% Colombard grapes and the rest Ugni Blanc grapes. In addition, he has 1 Ha of grapes for his Pineau. He distils himself and only has outside help during the harvest. All his cognacs are pure, unsweetened, no caramel and no boisé. He also does not reduce his cognacs with water. His motto is simple: "let nature do most of the work and the rest will come".
