In the heart of the Petite Champagne, one of the two premier growing regions of Cognac, the Bertrand family has passed down from generation to generation, since 1731, the art of cultivating the vines. A respect for the traditions of their past is reflected in the nature and authenticity of their products. Their trademark, the Windmill of Bel’Air, the last of the town of Reaux, is surrounded by  their own vines. Simone and Raymond both grew up in the Petite Champagne region of Cognac and separately learned the ways of Cognac production from their families. Simone grew up at the Domaine des Brissons, where her father taught her, while Raymond’s family has been in Reaux since 1731, with a windmill and vines at the Domaine de Laage. So naturally, when Simone and Raymond married in 1948, they combined the two domains into one, forming the Domaine des Brissons de Laage. At the moment they have 82 hectares of vineyards in the Petite Champagne, using ugni blanc and colombard grapes. Therese and Samuel are today’s generation at the Domaine des Brissons de Laage, Therese mainly focuses on its own brand name, Samuel concentrates on the vineyards and the contacts with Hennessey where they also sell eau de vie. We mainly have contact with therese, a flamboyant lady with a great positive appearance. Together with her husband Seph, they guarantee knowledge, commitment, passion, friendliness and correctness. A power couple!
