About this cognac:
This release represents a remarkable expression of the Fins Bois terroir, with an extraordinary balance between fruity intensity and refined waxiness rarely found in contemporary cognacs. By bringing these three vintages together (micro-vatting) in precisely the right proportions, a cognac was created that unites the best of both worlds: the abundant fruitiness, the fruit varieties representative of the region, perfectly balanced by the complex waxiness and minerality of the other vat. The result is a bottling that is extremely intriguing, revealing new facets with every sip.

About the producer:
Maison Rémi Landier is a cognac house with a special history tracing back to the Benedictine monks of the Royal Abbey of Bassac. In the mid-20th century, Rémi Landier acquired their historic farm "Chai des Pères" in Cors. The Landier family, settled in Cors since 1890, cherishes this unique heritage and honors the monastic tradition through the use of the "PAX" emblem. The Rémi Landier brand was established in 1973 by Rémi Landier and his son Jean-Yves. As winegrowers, distillers, and cellar masters, they have dedicated themselves to making elegant, delicate, and powerful cognacs. They also produce refined Pineau des Charentes. Their focus is on authenticity and sharing their passion for taste with both connoisseurs and newcomers. Since 2019, Géraldine Landier, the fifth generation of the family, has been at the helm of the company. As the granddaughter of Rémi and daughter of Jean-Yves, she continues the family tradition. In her role as general director, she is responsible for all innovations and new developments within the family business. Her background in cognac, liqueurs, and aged spirits (13 years professionally active at La Maison Du Whisky, France) contributes to the continuous development of this authentic cognac house.

Tasting notes:
Nose:
An extraordinary bouquet opens with intense waves of ripe orchard fruit - yellow plums, quince, and sun-ripened pears. The distinctive waxy character is immediately present, reminiscent of beeswax and paraffin, drawing fascinating parallels with those legendary Clynelish single malts from the 1970s. Underneath are delicate floral notes of acacia honey and white flowers, complemented by subtle hints of candied citrus peel.
Palate: The remarkable waxy texture luxuriously coats the palate, carrying waves of concentrated fruit essences. Fresh apricots, Mirabelle plums, and ripe peaches. But also a farmy-style grassiness. The high alcohol content is perfectly integrated and offers a rich and complex mouthfeel without overwhelming heat. Subtle oak spices and a hint of vanilla add depth and structure.
Finish: Exceptionally long and evolving. The waxiness remains while fruit tones slowly transform into more dried variants. Hints of old leather, beeswax furniture polish, and delicate rancio emerge in the very last notes. A masterful demonstration of the character of aged Fins Bois.

Label explanation:
The label features a unique artistic interpretation of the rolling hills of the Fins Bois landscape, but with a creative twist. Instead of the traditional vines, the vineyards are depicted with various fruits, cleverly referencing the intensely fruity character of this cognac. This creative deviation from reality symbolizes the fruit-driven profile of this particular bottling while simultaneously paying tribute to the characteristic terroir of the Fins Bois cru.

Ruben Luyten, www.whiskynotes.be, 19/05/2025:
Nose: more refined, with brighter fruits. Think quinces, greengages, Williams pears and nectarines. Rich floral notes as well, with fragrant grape must and whiffs of polished oak. Then there’s also a beautiful waxy side of paraffin and candles. Very seductive.
Mouth: the waxy texture stays strong, albeir with a punchy hint of pepper, ginger and some grassy notes as well. Then back to rich fruits – apricots on syrup and mirabelles. Hints of marzipan, light caramel and vanilla. Oak spice, mint and drying leafy notes towards the end.
Finish: long, still sweet and fruity, with honey and orange peels. Light menthol and furniture polish too.
A lovely texture here, taken to a higher level by a typical Fins Bois kind of floral note and fruits. Always elegant. The mix of different harvests makes this a true all-rounder.<
Score: 90/100

Serge Valentin, whiskyfun.com,18/05/2025:
Colour: deep gold. Nose: the exact opposite of the previous one, because even if this baby is multi-vintage, we’re in the realm of precision here, of near-simplicity – this is almost Bauhaus cognac. Chamomile, very ripe vineyard peaches, heather honey, and that’s it. All right then, let’s say these are different heather honeys, especially white and ling. In short, it’s magnificently compact, I’m almost afraid. With water: arrival of balms and ointments, camphor and the like. Mouth (neat): cedar and balsa, then oranges and honey, followed by a light maritime oloroso side and a touch of Iberian ham. Indeed, that’s also the oak ‘rising’. With water: it’s even more noticeable once you’ve added water, as almost always. That familiar mint tea and bitter chocolate note. Finish: it’s an amusing sensation, the tannicity slightly closes in on the spirit, almost like a door. Doesn’t stop a few classic touches of peach, orange and sultanas from continuing their patrol, but the whole becomes dry if not drying. Comments: one wonders whether there’s any real point in declaring the ABV to the hundredth of a degree, but maybe it makes it even more ‘distinctive’. A magnificent ‘seco’ cognac, at any rate.
SGP:461 – 89 points.
