notes:
Nose: In the aroma, a delicate and precise bouquet presents itself, built around a pure rancio and deep nutty notes of walnut and hazelnut. Light touches of white blossom and fresh almond create tension and freshness. Towards the end, shades of orange peel appear, subtly framed by the gentle grip of finely aged wood.
Palate: On the palate, it opens elegantly and smoothly, with full flavors of English toffee and creamy chocolate. Gradually, the palate develops into a rich, complex aromatic spectrum, in which both concentration and refinement come to the fore.
Finish: The very long, persistent finish is supported by extremely fine, perfectly integrated tannins.
about the producer:
On the banks of the Charente, in the heart of the Cognac region, lies Maison Prunier: one of the oldest and most authentic cognac houses in the area. Since the 17th century, the name Prunier has been associated with producing characterful cognac – with dedication and deep respect for time. Today, the house is run by the two sisters Alice and Claire Burnez, who carry on the family heritage with fresh energy. Their father, Stéphane Burnez, remains on watch as an experienced guardian. In this way, new ideas and generations of craftsmanship come together naturally.
The history of Prunier is literally written in oak. In the centuries-old warehouses, with their thick stone walls and blackened façades – the work of the “angel’s share”, the part that evaporates – the casks quietly mature. It is here that Stéphane learned the craft: tasting, waiting, tasting again, and only bottling when the cognac is truly at its peak.
Alice and Claire now carry on that same approach. They combine the tradition of their father and ancestors with a contemporary view of quality, transparency and sustainability. What remains is the core: craftsmanship, patience and respect for the terroir.
